green

it starts in the deep, red pits of my stomach.

the monster claws its way up my throat from the inside, leaving marks along my wind pipe.

its teeth are sharper than a great white’s, and it bites my tongue from my mouth during its escape and i can no longer speak.

i can no longer explain to you the utter pain i feel when i imagine your lips pressed against someone else’s.

all i can do is watch in misery.

moans and grunts leave me but you can’t hear me as you kiss her and kiss her and kiss her.

there is a newness to the act that we no longer share, and i begin to watch in fascination as she slowly consumes your heart.

you belong to her now. i am a memory lost in a cloud of black smog so thick it chokes you.

it took almost nothing to replace me.
